If I were you, I'd try with some very basic logic in your script first.
In a real world enviroment, with some nice features enabled (including all
DB stuff, radius, DNS lookups, accounting), you will never reach a big cps
figure.
Opensips itself is fast enough, but when you introduce stuff like accounting
and so on, you won't get nice figures in cps.
I'd try first with a basic config, and measure it with sipp.
And add one feature, then measure it again with sipp (it won't hurt if you
run sipp on a separate server).
Measure the performance after adding a new feature, also use the benchmark (
http://www.opensips.org/html/docs/modules/1.6.x/benchmark.html)
