Media relays can be chained without problems and automatically, unless they are behind NAT or if they have IP addresses in the private ranges (10.x.x.x, 192.168.x.x, ...)

However it is a bit wasteful to have more than one in the path. One way to deal with this is to only engage the media relay on one of the proxies (the originator or the destination) if the call goes between users on the same platform.
