[OpenSIPS-Users] children parameter

Hi,

I'm trying to find out what the criteria for setting the "children" parameter is. 

We are running Opensips (as a dispatcher) on a dedicated server with a single Intel® Xeon® X5660, 2.8Ghz, 6 core processor and 16GB RAM. Currently children=8. What can be the optimum value on this server to handle 1000-5000 calls per second (and about 10000 subscriptions and registrations every minute)?

Does number of cores have an impact on Opensips performance?
