Hi Andrew,

I had to do with something similar in past....and it proved to be a leek 
in perl and not in opensips...

OpenSIPS allocates at startup a fix mem pool to be used at runtime, so 
at runtime it will not "ask" for any more memory from OS.

So, to be sure if it is OpenSIPS or the perl lib eating the OS mem, 
enable the mem debugger in OpenSIPS  (see 
http://www.opensips.org/Resources/DocsTsMem)...so you can check if 
OpenSIPS still have free mem in its internal pool.....
