Yes. The work on an improved codec negotiation architecture that we  
began a few years ago with videocaps and the "codec negotiation patch"  
was discussed at AstriDevcon one year ago, but so far nothing has  
happened... OpenSource depends on the willingness of users to invest  
time or money.
