Hi Douglas,

you could use the gflags module to implement such a function. This values can 
be manipulated with FIFO commands.

The dbtext and db_berkeley modules should work with the most modules, that 
don't need the raw query capability. Implementing this type of queries for 
that modules is not possible because they don't support SQL at all.
