Hi,

I've recently installed OpenSIPS through Ubuntu apt-get. I used the
instructions from

http://opensips.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/opensips/trunk/INSTALL

to configure, opting to use the MySQL option. After all is said and done, I
tried to use:

sudo /etc/init.d/opensips restart to run the server.

I get this following error message in syslog:

"ERROR:core:daemonize: unable to create pid file
/var/run/opensips/opensips.pid: No such file or directory"

I would appreciate your expertise on the matter. Here are the relevant logs
that I can find:

In STDOUT:

"Restarting opensips: opensipsListening on
             udp: 127.0.0.1 [127.0.0.1]:5060
             udp: 192.168.11.12 [192.168.11.12]:5060
             tcp: 127.0.0.1 [127.0.0.1]:5060
             tcp: 192.168.11.12 [192.168.11.12]:5060
Aliases:
             tcp: ubuntu.local:5060
             tcp: localhost:5060
             udp: ubuntu.local:5060
             udp: localhost:5060"

ps aux | grep -i "sip" returns nothing

In messages log:

"ubuntu opensips: INFO:core:init_tcp: using epoll_lt as the TCP io watch
method (auto detected)"

The syslog has a lot of DBG loading up (no errors) then the pid error:

"Nov 5 22:30:36 ubuntu opensips: DBG:core:yyparse: loading module
/usr/lib/opensips/modules/db_mysql.so

...
Nov 5 22:42:10 ubuntu opensips: ERROR:core:daemonize: unable to create pid
file /var/run/opensips/opensips.pid: No such file or directory"

Thanks very much for help
